PLAYGROUNDS

Another element of the urban and rural fabric that fascinates me is the space provided for children. Playgrounds and amusement parks. These are symbolic spaces that reflect much of the culture of adults. The child is for the adult a projection of what for him is linked to innocence, joy and a certain freedom, qualities often lost along the way. There are also lots of cultural, security and sometimes ideological metaphors. The materials used, the forms and and the colors, sometimes the paintings and the visual codes which appear there make of these spaces instances strangely revealing of our civilization.
