is a young Lao woman.

She was student and worked at Ban Ton Mali café - one of my favorite places owned by a friend, Phanumad Disattha, movie director and photographer - when i asked her to illustrate my third album “Preconscious” in 2012.

We shot the album’s cover and booklet at my brother-in-law’s place, a charming small wooden house in the center, now replaced with a more mordern one.

I was searching for someone able to illustrate this preconscious thing, the instant before coming into consciousness, the intuition of the following moment. For me it is highly linked to the teen age and the magic beyond understanding. It was also a way to capture the young people’s new mood in Laos.
